Comedian/ventriloquist Todd Oliver bringing 'Dogs Gone Wild!' to NPAC

Greeneville is officially going to the dogs.

Nationally known comedian and ventriloquist Todd Oliver and his brood of talking mutts will bring their family-friendly show "Dogs Gone Wild!" to Niswonger Performing Arts Center on Feb. 2.

Show time is 7:30 p.m.

The performance, which mixes comedy and ventriloquism, features a cast of colorful characters, including a trio of live "talking" dogs -- Irving, Lucy and Elvis. Also part of the Oliver entertainment "family" are Pops, a crazy, confused old-timer; Miss Lilly, his lifelong love; and Joey, the endearing bad boy.

The Oliver dogs are actually pampered family pets who heartily enjoy their time in the limelight. In fact, Irving, a Boston terrier, has been sharing the stage with his master for 13 years. Lucy is a West Highland mix, and Elvis is a Bassett hound.

Oliver, one of the most popular entertainers in Branson, Mo., has been a featured performer of the Showboat Branson Belle's Showstoppers! Show since 1998 and has headlined theaters and comedy clubs across the country. His "Todd Oliver & Friends" show played at the Americana Theatre in Branson in 2012.

He has also appeared on such nationally televised shows as "The Today Show," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "The Howie Mandel Show," "Walker Texas Ranger" and "CNN Entertainment News" as well as on "The Oak Ridge Boys' Live in Las Vegas" and Penn & Teller's Vegas special "Sin City Sensation." Oliver and Irving were also semi-finalists on Season 7 of "America's Got Talent!"

Tickets are $22.50 for adults; $19.25 for the Pick 4 or More Series and group rate; $10 for students; and free for children 10 and younger.

For tickets or more information, call the NPAC box office at (423) 638-1679 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or visit www.greenevillenpac.com.
