Since Norman Bridwell's first "Clifford" book was published in 1963, the series about a little girl named Emily Elizabeth and her beloved Big Red Dog has grown to include 126 million books in print and an Emmy Award-winning television series on PBS.
Now, Clifford, who celebrated his 50th anniversary in 2012, is the star of his own live musical, "Clifford the Big Red Dog LIVE," coming to Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville on Sunday, Feb. 10. Show time is 3 p.m. The family friendly, full-stage show features all of fans' favorite characters from Bridwell Island, including Emily Elizabeth, Cleo, T-Bone and, of course, Clifford.
