The colorful world of Dr. Seuss will spring to life Saturday, March 2, when Jonesborough Repertory Theatre welcomes "Seuss Sayings!," the latest production from Susan Lachmann's Laughing One Studios.
The show coincides with the birthday of Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, and National Read Across America Day. Storyteller Kevin Tolley, pictured to the left, will perform three Dr. Seuss favorites: "Green Eggs and Ham," "The Lorax" and "The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories."
Performances will begin at 5:30 and 7 p.m., and will include a special "Sam I Am" tribute to the late Sam Mays, well-known in the local arts and education community for his support of civic causes, including the initiation of an art school and mentoring program for graffiti offenders in Washington County, Tenn., and the Blue Plum Festival's Urban Art Throwdown. Admission is a suggested $5 donation at the door, with proceeds benefiting the Sam Mays Graphic Arts Scholarship at East Tennessee State University.
For more information, call Lachmann at (423) 444-2972.
