Radio GoTriCities - Do you have original music to share with the world?

For the past several years, GoTriCities has been committed to promoting local music here in the Tri-Cities.

It's a tough time too. Even with the advent of Myspace and Facebook, it's tough to draw a crowd and starting a band is hardly a profitable venture.

Nevertheless, it's a labor of love and we will always be committed to promoting local music. With the launch of the new GoTriCities.com website it's even greater chance to expose your music.

GoTriCities.com has reached a partnership with both The Kingsport Times-News and The Johnson City Press. Our website is now the central location for events, music and movies for the Tri-Cities and we have only just begun to promote and market this website with this alliance.

As part of that launch, we have included the Tri-Cities first Iphone application and the Tri-Cities first Local Music Mp3 Player - Radio GoTriCities.

If you're a local band or musician who writes and performs original music. We want to help you get the word out with both of these services. We are promoting original bands and their music on Mp3 players throughout the website - you can check out the player on the home page of the website and every other page too. Be sure to click on the link to Radio GoTriCities and see the full pop-up player - http://www.gotricities.com/music.php

We want to put you out front too! Here's how;

If you have recorded music and would like to appear as a band endorsed by GoTriCities, first of all – it's free!

All you have to do is email us at support@gotricities.com. Tell us you'd like to promote your band or songs and we'll help you walk through the steps.

Basically, we'll just need an Mp3 file. We recommend good recordings and send us as many as you like.

We will only publish your music with the intent for people to listen. They will not be able to download unless you want them to. We'll create band graphics for your act, progam all the work and notify you when the music is up and running.

Collectively, our Network of websites is reaching over 450,000 unique visitors per month now. The new Mp3 Player will soon be promoted in both newspapers and all websites and we hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity.

We believe in the artistry of our region's music. What we scratch our heads about sometimes is how comfortable bands and players become about promotion. It's hard work and if you want to get noticed you've really got to put some effort into it. That's why we want to make it easy. Just let us know by emailing us at support@gotricities.com or PM us here on the Buzz.

We hope you'll join us in our efforts to promote live local music too. Spread the word about this new feature and let us know if you've got any new ideas.

We look forward to hearing your music!

    I've heard it said that a picture is worth a thousand words. This may be true, but, music can take you places you can only imagine. Music can set a backdrop, bring back long forgotten memories or let you travel to longed for places.

    I've seen signs posted in parks telling me to leave only footprints and take nothing but memories. Music, on the other hand, can and does evoke powerful emotions as well as memories of what has been or just as well could have been.

    There are all too many times I've heard a piece of music that has given me goosebumps or has brought me to the point of tears. Music encompasses us all in different ways, but, it never fails to bring a response in varying degrees to us all.

    Music has been and always will be one of the single most important factors in my life and I hope you enjoy my music as well as I have enjoyed creating it!
