Folk Soul Revival Folk Soul Revival

FOLK SOUL REVIVAL is an upbeat, rootsy acoustic group from the mountains of Appalachia. Their diversity, creativity and passion is evident among those who have witnessed the boys hone their craft onstage. With their distinct vocal approaches, back-porch instrumentation, haunting four-part harmonies and sheer talent, the boys have garnered much success and have attracted a large following. FOLK SOUL REVIVAL have shared the stage with such high profile acts as Jason Isbell (of Drive-By Truckers fame), vocalist Justin Townes Earle (Steve Earle's son), Tim Easton, Mel McDaniel, The Felice Brothers and harmonica phenom and Sony's "next big thing" Chris Janson. The guys have also headlined many local shows in various venues, to great success, been featured on several local TV networks and are particpating in larger regional summer festivals (including the Blue Plum Festival in Johnson City, TN, the famed Floydfest, IN Floyd, VA...and the world famous, Rhythm and Roots festival in historic Bristol, TN.) Their debut album, "Good Enough" was released this past April, independently, and has been a sweeping success. FOLK SOUL REVIVAL has just attracted the attention of Lonesome Records, out of Big Stone Gap, VA, so talk of a follow up is commencing. Hailing from the Appalchians, with it's expressive and traditional musical heritage, has helped to shape and define the sound of FOLK SOUL REVIVAL. However, each of the individual musicians bring some of their own, unique and personal influences to the group, and as a result, the music is a fresh amalgamation of what Americana music should be. FOLK SOUL REVIVAL is a crowd pleasing reminder of the essence of live music. Their ability to perform toe tapping- jugband type jams, touching ballads about love and loss, traditional folk type songs, and the occasional unique take on some long forgotten classic Top-40 hit are what keeps the seats filled and the show-goers smiling. Truly they are "just the right mix of rowdy and roots."
