You know that category on Jeopardy called “Potpourri”? Well think of this week’s column as a little of that.
I’m back from spring break in NYC/ DC. I had a great time, but I’m tired!!
And, I’ve decided to make a few changes. Starting this week, I’ll be posting my columns blog-style directly onto the Go Tri-Cities Web site. So, I’m consolidating into one blog. I’ll be shutting down my www.xanga.com/thegotogal site in favor of a new streamlined dealio. (You can also still find me on Facebook and I’ll link everything from there.)
I’m also going to try and be consistent with when I post. So, catch my new stuff on Thursdays from now on, unless I post something else special during the week. This will make it easier for my husband and all of you fab readers to actually find me!
Now the housekeeping is out of the way, on to some business.
First off, beer festival news. Brewgrass tickets are going on sale the first weekend in May. You can become a fan of Barley’s on Facebook or sign up for alerts on www.brewgrassfestival.com for all the updated info.
Hickory Hops will be taking place on April 17 in Hickory. Tickets are available now at www.hickoryhops.com.
Racks by the Tracks will also take place in Kingsport on May 15. Tickets for the beer tasting are $20. Check out www.racksbythetracks.com for info. (As a side note, Robinella will also be at the Down Home on May 15. This leaves me quite torn on what activity to choose!)
There’s also another beer festival going on in Asheville June 5. It’s called the Beer City Festival. Tickets are $35 and go on sale March 29. The main prob with this one is that you’ll have to buy tickets at Barley’s and other select locations in Ashville. I’ll let you know when I find out more.
In other news, I’m super excited that the Zach Brown Band will be heading up Fun Fest this year. Tickets this year will be sold in $40 passes for all of the concerts. According to the Fun Fest Web site, individual tickets will be sold only if there are some left when the passes are sold.
Got any more ideas for me? Post a comment here or e-mail me at thegotogal@hotmail.com.
