Sorry I’m a day late this week on my column posting. It’s been one of those weeks where no matter how hard I try to get ahead, I feel like I actually go three steps backwards.
All this stress (mostly school related and mostly my fault for procrastinating) got me thinking about what I like to do to relax. So, I thought I’d offer up a few suggestions.
Basically, my favorite way to relax is to get a massage. I’ve been to several places around the Tri-Cities for this service, but my favorite is Healthy Effects in Johnson City on the Bristol Highway. (I haven’t been back in a while, but I really need to go.) Check out their Web site www.healthyeffectsmassage.com for pricing and services.
Other options include Body Health and Mind Center in Johnson City (www.mybhmc.com), Austin Springs Spa at the Carnegie (www.austinspringsspa.com) and Results Day Spa in Kingsport (www.resultsdayspa.com).
If you’re looking for something else besides a massage, the spa at the Martha Washington Inn is having a special tomorrow for a $10 aromatherapy soak with any 50 minute facial. You can become their fan on Facebook to get all the specials.
I’m also super pumped because I found out that my favorite yoga studio has reopened in Boones Creek. If you’ve never taken a yoga class, it’s really a great way to relax, breath and stretch at the same time. Simple Abundance is a great place to try out if you’re interested in finding out more. Check them out at www.simpleabundanceyoga.com. Not only are they really great, but they’ve got a fantastic story, as well.
Got any other relaxation ideas? Leave me a message here or e-mail me at thegotogal@hotmail.com.
I’d also like to say welcome to all the pharmacists and pharmacy students here this weekend for the Phi Delta Chi regional conference. I’ll see all of you brothers at the Carnegie this weekend.

I could really use a massage! thank god it's Friday :)
