It’s been awhile (again), since we’ve last communicated. So, I thought I’d take this opportunity to give you all a little update.
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote. First of all, I turned the big 3-0, which I surprisingly had a difficult time with. Something about saying goodbye to the 20s is scary when you’re doing it. Now, not so much.
I did get some great bday gifts and a really cool cake. My friend Larry—the owner of KC Cakes—made me a Colts cake, which was complete with a football and football field. If you need a cool cake, check out his work at http://kccakestn.blogspot.com/.
Second, I started back to school. This semester has been even more crazy than last (if that’s possible) and I’m basically hanging out at school all the time. Luckily, this is the last semester of classes before I start clinical rotations. That’s what I’m really looking forward to. I even get to go hang out in Boston for a month. I’ll be doing a little research/ writing on alternative and natural medicines, which I’m really excited about!
Third (and probably last), I’ve got some cool plans over the next few weeks. For the Super Bowl, we’ve reserved a table with some friends at One 12 Downtown in Johnson City. I’m wishing the Colts were in the Super Bowl, but I’ve adopted the Packers for the day in honor of my friend from Wisconsin.
Next weekend, I’ll be hitting up the Kingsport Theatre Guild’s production of “Don’t Dress for Dinner.” It’s my friend Tina’s stage debut and I’m sure she’ll be fabulous! Performances are Fri. Feb. 11, Sat. Feb. 12, Fri. Feb. 18, Sat. Feb. 19, and Sun. Feb. 20. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 with the Sunday matinee begins at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $28 for a group of 3, $14 for adults, and $12 for students and seniors. For more info, call the box office at 392-8427.
For Valentine’s Day, we’ll be hitting up Café Lola, as usual. The dinner is $55 per person and carries an aphrodisiac theme. Reservations are available from 5 to 9 p.m. Call 928-LOLA for reservations.
Got any other great plans in the next few weeks? Let me know here or e-mail me at thegotogal@hotmail.com.
Hopefully, I’ll be seeing you all again much sooner!
