MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 12, 2009) — Milligan College's fall production of “A Shakespeare Double Bill: Titus ‘n 2 Gents” opens Thursday, Oct. 15. The Milligan theater department will perform the play Oct. 15, 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Milligan’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts.
“The play is an opportunity to experience the wide diversity of Shakespeare's genius by juxtaposing one of his most bloody plays with one of his most frothy, comic love stories,” said Dr. Dennis Elkins, artistic director of theatre at Milligan, who also serves as an adjunct instructor of humanities at Milligan. “At its most simple, it’s two plays for the price of one.”
The show is comprised of abbreviated versions of two of William Shakespeare’s earliest works, “Titus Andronicus” and “The Two Gentlemen of Verona.”
General admission is $8, and student tickets are $5. All performances are open to the public. Tickets are available in the Milligan College Bookstore, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling 423.461.8733.
