Through his one-person comedies and lively lectures, Peterson Toscano takes on social justice concerns and humorously explores serious topics of gender, sexism, racism, privilege, climate change and LGBTQ issues. The scholar, comic, storyteller, actor and activist “does such a good job at taking really big and scary issues … and [presenting] them in a way that is accessible,” Justin Adkins, associate dean and director of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access and Social Justice Center, Allegheny College.

“Understanding how words … are delivered can really crack someone’s head open in a fresh new way, can move them to action. I like that. When my work does that, that is really a blessing.” – Peterson Toscano
