Tim Potter, Local Veterinarian and Performing Member of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild, will Tell Story at Local Tellabration Tellabration! is, as the late J.G.Pinkerton (founder) once envisaged, like a night of a thousand stars — each star a story. Imagine thousands of listeners and tellers, worldwide, coming together in spirit, and approximately in “real time,” to celebrate the joy of story. The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild will join in this night of a thousand stars-stories and invites the public to come listen November 21, 2009, 7:00 -8:30. Tales for Tail Waggers II is a storytelling concert that will feature seven of the Guild’s Performing Members including local Veterinarian, Tim Potter; as well as Rebecca Alexander, Gary Varner, Leon Overbay, Molly Catron, Linda Poland, and Larry Kelley. The evening is presented by The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild and will be held at the beautiful International Storytelling Center in downtown Jonesborough Tennessee. This benefit concert will raise foods and donations for the Johnson City Animal Shelter for the second year in a row. Listeners are asked to bring dry puppy chow or kitten chow and canned cat and dog foods, as well as clean blankets, sheets, and animal toys. Monetary donations are also accepted. You will surely hear a story or two about a Tail Wagger! So bring the family. Dr. Potter is also the author of a recently published children’s novel about the need for health care for pets, called “The Gift of Scruffy”. His book as well as several other CD’s of the Guild will be for sale this night. Tickets will be on sale at the door beginning at 6:30 or by reservations at 791-3981.
