Colonial Heights is an unincorporated, largely residential area just south of Kingsport.
Many people who live in Colonial Heights work in Kingsport or elsewhere.
The Sullivan County School System serves the Colonial Heights community.
There are two elementary schools Miller Perry and Rock Springs which feed Colonial Heights Middle School.
Along with Sullivan Middle School, CHMS feeds Sullivan South High School located on Moreland Drive.
