Bay's Mountain
Bays Mountain is a nature preserve owned and operated by the city of Kingsport, Tennessee. The facilities include the 3000 acre outdoor classroom, a 44 acre lake, and a nature center/museum, inside of which is a planetarium with a 40 foot diameter dome. The park programs are an integral part of the curriculum of local school children, and in recent years the park has assumed regional importance, with students from 33 counties in 5 states currently attending.
   

Kingsport Greenbelt
The Kingsport Greenbelt is a linear park that connects residential neighborhoods, traditional parks, downtown, commercial districts, schools and activity centers. A special feature of this unique park is a pathway for pedestrian and bicycle use. The pathway meanders through marshlands, glides across open meadows, and passes by sites of historical and aesthetic value. Development and operation of the Greenbelt are guided by a citizen advisory committee and the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department.
   

Panther Creek
Panther Creek State Park, covering approximately 1,435 acres, is located on the shores of Cherokee Reservoir, an impoundment of the Holston River. Legend has it that both Panther Creek and Panther Springs, located about 1 1/2 miles southeast of the park, received their names from the claim of a Colonel Bradley of Virginia who, while exploring the area, shot a panther that fell into the spring.
   

Roan Mountain
The Roan Mountain State Park is part of the Tennessee State Parks system and was created in the 1950s and developed in the 1970s. Park visitors can enjoy valley or mountain camping in one of the finest campgrounds in the country.
   

Steele Creek
Over 2,000 acres of forest and water along with 25 miles of hiking trails. Picnicking, grills, golf, half-mile scenic train ride, nature center, lakeside pier for fishing and paddleboats
   

Natural Tunnel
Natural Tunnel, called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by William Jennings Bryan, has been attracting sightseers to the mountains of southwestern Virginia for more than 100 years. Today it is the focal point of Natural Tunnel State Park, a park which offers visitors not only spectacular sights but also swimming, camping, picnicking, hiking, a visitor center, an amphitheater and interpretive programs.
   

Warrior's Path
Warrior's Path State Park was named for the park's proximity to the ancient war and trading path used by the Cherokee. Since that time, the park land has known a long history of travelers, and is still a pathway for modern-day outdoor enthusiasts. The 950-acre area was acquired from the Tennessee Valley Authority is 1952, to serve the people who live in or visit this section of Northeast Tennessee. It is situated on the shores of TVA's Patrick Henry Reservoir on the Holston River.
   
Winged Deer
Established in 1991, Winged Deer Park is a 200-acre district park. The J. Norton Arney family previously owned and operated the farm from the 1940's through the early 70's. The facility includes a meeting room, landscape patio area and working offices. Complex ammenities include five lighted softball fiels, athletic office, scorer's tower and restroom, three lighted soccer fields, Batter's Up batting cages, a 9-hole disc golf course, playground area, soccer concession building with restroom, 1/2 mile lighted and paved fitness trail which winds through the forested section of the park. The lakefront area features two sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, picnic shelter with restrooms, public access boat ramp, green space, lighted handicap accessible boardwalk, and a Festival Plaza multi-use area with restroom.
