Well, let me start out by saying this.... I was REALLY Disappointed that there wasn't a much larger crowd. Quite possibly the best live show I've seen to date. Viva La Volture, a band I haven't heard of until tonight, Started out with a very strong set, band of thieves, a Chicago based band came up next with a great sound and a weird mix that gave my girlfriend chills. Then, Our Lady peace did all of their classics Perfectly with their new stuff put in the mix. I was damn near in tears the whole time. This IS one of my favorite bands since 1998 and I couldn't ask anyone for a better line up. Not to mention the quality of show. $75 light show for only $20? Damn right. I will be posting pics of this awesome show pretty soon. Thanks Ansley for bringing Our Lady Peace to Johnson City, and I am sorry anyone had to miss it.
Last night was a spectacle that this region has never seen before. I am just in awe of the event. Our Lady Peace brought their arena light show, including LED panels, which gave fans an experience that will be discussed for years to come. I really can't put it into words. I just hope the crew from GoTriCities was able to capture some video and pics that they can share with everyone.
Via La Vulture is a local band which needs desperately to be heard. Their style is unique, but I believe everyone would agree that they are very good at what they do. They have a Modest Mouse / Coldplay vibe. What a great set they played.
Company of Thieves added a whole new dimension to the show. A sexy lead female vocalist, with a voice that captivates. The band's energy was contagious.
Then came Our Lady Peace. Wow. When the LED panels came on, you could almost here the crowd thinking "Holy Sh**!" The band sounded amazingly tight, and they brought hits like "Starseed" and "Clumsy" straight at the crowd with pure emotion. 90-minutes including an encore, and the crowd was putty in their hands the entire show. I am serious when I say that I simply can't give it justice with words. Maybe my friends David Cate or Jared Bentley can attempt to put it into words. I hope they give reviews.
Now comes the bad part.... I am so saddened by the fact that this show was missed by so many fans. Around 3 months ago, it was like a light switch was turned off. I personally know that many clubs are hanging on by a thread, people have lost their jobs, and we have finally reached a point where people are having to choose between entertainment and food. Just three months ago these shows were doing fine, then the numbers just dropped off.
Now don't get me wrong... this show wasn't empty be any stretch of the imagination. There was a good crowd of fans, and those 300 fans were treated to an arena show in a club setting. But I truly believe if everyone knew the quality of this show, they would have found a way to be there.
I have been doing this long enough to know when to step back and let things settle for a while. I am going to enjoy the holidays, and the rest of the football season without any stress. My Denver Broncos are kicking some booty. LOL. My advice to other promoters and clubs would be to do the same. Fans want to see these shows, they just can't afford it right now. People are saving what they can for Christmas. "You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run." It isn't just coincidence that I have no shows booked the rest of the year. I saw this coming months ago.
Let it be said... the Our Lady Peace show is without a doubt... The Best Tri-Cities show that most fans didn't see. I will see everyone in January and February. Enjoy the holidays everyone....
P.S. That beer that I publicly promised to buy Angelface at a show... it was done. LOL Thanks for supporting the show dude. _________________ Ansley Roberts

Yes it is done. He also added a shot of Patron, that is a gentleman. He also came through on a Pair of OLP undies for a chick after the show. One hell of a night. I got an autographed CD, some great pics to post, and some great memories. Thanks for the Drinks and an Unbelievable show. I'll get the pics on here soon.
