Santa Claus is coming to E-town

The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting Santa Claus during two events in the upcoming weeks.

The first event is “Christmas at Covered Bridge Park,” which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2-5 p.m. The event will feature a miniature Christmas village built on the park grounds.

The village will feature Christmas music and the chill will be offset with free hot chocolate.

Santa will be perched on the Main Stage, where he will hold court and hear the requests from good little boys and girls. There will not be a professional photographer to cover the visits, so parents are encouraged to bring their cameras or cellphones to get the picture.

The second event is “Storytime with Santa,” which will take place at the Parks and Recreation Center, 300 W. Mill St. on Friday, Dec. 20, from 1-3 p.m.

The event will feature plenty of stories and lots of other fun. Children will also be able to get their last-minute requests to Santa.
